First bitcoin has a lot of benefit and to be honest a lot of Nigerians use it to for genuine transactions, many people already know that most bitcoin transactions are not traceable and they will not send their bitcoin to non reputable source and there is a lot of traceable fraudulent activities the government don’t care about. so why did they ban bitcoin instead of going after many tracible fraudulent activities, the simple answer is they banned bitcoin because of the #Endsars movement that happen in 2020, the same reason twitter was banned. Many account were block for supporting the #Endsars movement financially and people switch to bitcoin and they were angry they could not do anything about it.
